Delta Increases Service to Latin America, Caribbean This Winter

Building on its largest-ever service to Latin America this winter, Delta is enhancing flight frequencies from six of its U.S. hubs. This growth translates to a 30 percent increase in available seats compared to last year's winter season, with added frequencies to nine destinations in the region, including Guatemala and Liberia, Costa Rica, in Central America, as well as San Juan, Puerto Rico

With this added service, Delta will increase Saturday frequencies from Atlanta by three times to St. Thomas; twice to St. Maarten; twice to Guatemala; three times to San José; three times to Liberia and six times to San Juan. From New York-JFK, it will boost the frequency by three times to Cancun, while from Detroit, it will increase the frequency by twice to Punta Cana, Montego Bay and San Juan. It will also increase its frequencies from Minneapolis by twice to Punta Cana, twice to Montego Bay, twice to San Juan, with an added Liberia service (currently four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday). From Boston, it will increase the frequency to San Juan by twice.

Delta will begin flying these added Saturday routes seasonally starting January 13, 2024. All of these routes will operate on varying aircraft including the Boeing 757-200737-900 and 737-800, all with First Class, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin seating.

In addition to more Saturday frequencies, Delta is also adding an extra trip from Seattle to Cancun that will depart on Fridays and return on Saturdays. This route will begin operating seasonally starting December 22, 2023 on the Boeing 737-800.

Recently, the airline unveiled its largest-ever holiday schedule, which has since been extended with many routes now available to enjoy until April 2024 and 46 destinations served, including a brand-new route to Curacao as well as returning service to Cartagena, Colombia. Additionally, Delta and the LATAM group are continuing to add joint venture routes as the partners work to grow their extensive combined network between North and South America.
