Flight cancellations have begun as the fourth nor’easter this month rolls across the northeastern United States and New England.
In the New York City area, JFK Airport is reporting approximately 601 flight cancellations thus far. There have been about 736 cancellations at LaGuardia and nearly 70 percent cancellations at Newark. AirTran and bus service to the airports remains operational.

In Washington, DC, and Baltimore, flights are continuing to operate at BWI Airport, although wet conditions have forced a number of cancellations. Reagan National reports that delays and cancellations are possible throughout the night.
Philadelphia’s airport reports that nearly 600 flights have been reported cancelled today, with some additional delays. All airports are advising travelers to check with their airline before heading to the airport.

According to the latest forecast from Accuweather, the slow-moving storm system is set to bring snow from Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, eastern Tennessee and North Carolina into West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and southeastern New York state into Wednesday night. Most of the snow is expected in the coastal areas of New England, as well as parts of West Virginia, northern Maryland, southern Pennsylvania, northern Delaware, New Jersey and Long Island.
Flight Waivers
A number of airlines have issued flight waivers ahead of the storm.
Customers set to fly on American Airlines through today can rebook through March 25 between the same city pair in the same cabin (or pay the difference).
On United Airlines, customers set to fly through today can rebook through March 24 in the originally ticketed cabin (any fare class) and between the original city pair.
Delta is allowing customers set to fly through today to rebook through March 25, with the new ticket to be reissued on or before that date.
Customers on Southwest Airlines can rebook if they are scheduled to fly through today at Baltimore (BWI), Philadelphia (PHL), Pittsburgh (PIT), Washington - Dulles (IAD) or Washington - National (DCA), or through March 22 at Boston, Hartford - Bradley (BDL), Islip - Long Island (ISP), Manchester (MHT), LaGuardia (LGA), Newark (EWR), Portland (PWM) and Providence (PVD). Customers can rebook in the original class of service or travel standby within 14 days of the original date of travel between the original city pair.
On JetBlue, customers can rebook travel through airports in the mid-Atlantic and Pittsburgh scheduled for today through March 23, and travel through airports in the northeast scheduled through March 22 through March 24.
Customers scheduled to fly on Frontier Airlines through March 21 can rebook through March 30.
