Global Travel Platform Daytrip Expands Its Operations to India

Daytrip, a global travel platform providing private door-to-door car transfers in over 110 countries worldwide, has announced its expansion to India. Daytrip already offers private transport with English-speaking drivers and optional sightseeing stops in 110 countries worldwide, and India marks another important region for the quickly growing international brand.

The expansion to India follows Daytrip’s recent Series B funding. It also comes at a time when “India is set to be an important global source market for leisure travel,” according to a McKinsey & Company report from November 2023.

“India is an important region for Daytrip thanks to increasing opportunities for both inbound and outbound tourism,” said Jan Prokop, co-founder and head of driver operations at Daytrip. “India is not the easiest country to organize transfers in, and Daytrip makes it easier for travelers to safely explore the region by offering an easy-to-use platform for booking private car transportation with drivers who speak English.”

“There are more than 22 official languages in India, and more than 700 are spoken ones,” said Lucio William Fontana, head of expansion at Daytrip. “As such, international travelers will appreciate that they can easily communicate with their local, English-speaking driver while traveling through the country.”

Daytrip was founded in 2015 because the founders Tomáš Turek, Markéta Bláhová, Valeriia Pshenychna, Jan Prokop and Jiří Sváček believed that there had to be a better way to travel between cities. So they came up with a better option: door-to-door rides in a private car with professional, English-speaking drivers. They added the option to visit curated sightseeing stops. Over the years, Daytrip’s growing network of over 7,000 drivers has helped over 850,000 people transform their travel day into a holiday. On top of that, Daytrip has maintained a five-star rating on Tripadvisor and expanded its operations to more than 110 countries worldwide.
