The Las Vegas Monorail will remain open and running from 7 a.m. New Year’s Eve, continuously through New Year’s Day and until 2 a.m. on January 2, 2018, for a total of 43 straight hours.
With the continuous 43-hour service, The Monorail will be the only motorized form of transportation available along the Las Vegas Strip on New Year’s Eve. The Las Vegas Strip shuts down automobile traffic from approximately 5:45 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
Additionally, the Monorail is offering passengers several incentives this New Year’s Eve:
- Anyone who purchases an unlimited-ride pass on the Monorail can receive $5 in Lyft credit, enabling them to extend their journey beyond the 3.9-mile route. This offer is ideal for visitors who want to experience the Las Vegas Strip on New Year’s Eve, but are staying in Downtown Las Vegas or anywhere else off the Las Vegas Strip. Unlimited-ride passes may be purchased here.
- Monorail riders who do not plan to use Lyft and wish to purchase any unlimited-ride pass can visit here to receive 10 percent off.
- In conjunction with the newly launched Anti-DUI Coalition, new and existing Lyft users can also go here to receive $5 off two Lyft rides on New Year’s Eve from 7 a.m. on Dec 31 and 12:01 p.m. on Jan 1, while supplies last.
- Locals can purchase $1 one-way local tickets on New Year’s Eve from any Monorail ticket office, which will stay open until 11 p.m. that night. Locals must present a Nevada ID to receive the discount.
The Monorail has five stations along the Las Vegas Strip at MGM Grand; Bally’s/Paris Las Vegas; Flamingo Las Vegas/Caesars Palace; Harrah’s/The LINQ Promenade and SLS Las Vegas. Two more stations are located at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Westgate Resort & Casino.
