Snow is beginning to fall at airports across the northeastern United States and New England, causing a number of travel disruptions and delays. Airlines are expanding their existing change waivers for customers affected by the storm.
In the New York City area, JFK Airport reports that flights are continuing to arrive and depart, but that airlines have cancelled nearly 60 percent of their schedule through midnight. The AirTran is operating normally. At Newark Liberty International, nearly 650 flights have been canceled, and at LaGuardia, delays are 15 minutes or less, but with significant cancellations. In all cases travelers are strongly advised to confirm their flight before leaving for the airport.
