Following the Biden Administration’s recent relaxation of travel restrictions between the United States and Europe, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced the restoration of flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Frankfurt, with continuing service to Singapore from November 2, 2021. Additionally, SIA will resume nonstop flights from San Francisco International Airport to Hong Kong, also with continuing service to Singapore, commencing on November 2.
With these restored flights, SIA has rebuilt approximately 65 percent of its pre-COVID roster of flight frequencies from the U.S. Additional reinstatements, including services from the carrier’s Seattle and Houston (IAH) gateways, remain in the pipeline as operating and regulatory conditions permit.
SIA will employ Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft on both routes, offering a four-cabin configuration, including first class (four seats), business class (48 seats), premium economy class (28 seats), and economy class (184 seats).
From November 1, flight SQ 26 will resume daily operations from Singapore to Frankfurt, continuing to JFK. Flights depart Singapore at 11:55 p.m. and arrive at Frankfurt at 6:20 a.m. the following day. The flights continue to New York, departing Frankfurt at 08:20 a.m. and arriving at JFK at 12:15 p.m.
From November 2, SQ 25 will resume daily operations from New York (JFK) to Frankfurt, and on-bound to Singapore. Flights depart JFK at 9:15 p.m. and arrive in Frankfurt at 09:50 a.m. the following day. The flights offer continuing service to Singapore, departing Frankfurt at 11:40 a.m. and arriving Singapore at 06:50 a.m. the next day.
The San Francisco-Hong Kong-Singapore round-trip journeys will be operated by flights SQ 08 and SQ 07. SQ 08 will commence on November 2, operating from Singapore to Hong Kong, and on-bound to San Francisco, three times weekly. The flight departs Singapore on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 8:25 a.m., arriving in Hong Kong at 12:25 p.m. The flight’s continuing service to San Francisco departs Hong Kong at 1:40 p.m., with arrival in San Francisco at 10:40 p.m. the same day.
Also beginning on November 2, SQ 07 will operate from San Francisco to Hong Kong three times weekly, departing San Francisco at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Hong Kong at 7:10 p.m. the following day. The flight offers continuing service to Singapore, departing Hong Kong at 8:40 p.m. and arriving in Singapore at 12:40 a.m. the following day.
