Southwest Airlines has opened its summer 2027 schedule for booking, and advisors with leisure clients in Texas and Tennessee have new nonstop options to the Caribbean and Central America. The carrier, which describes the schedule as the largest summer lineup in its history, released it Oct. 2.
The biggest expansion is in Austin, Texas, where Southwest plans as many as 143 daily departures and seven seasonal routes, five of which are new to the airline. Weekend flights in June and July will link Austin with Liberia, Costa Rica; Nassau, Bahamas; and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They join the airline’s current Austin service to Cancun, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, as well as San José, Costa Rica. On the domestic side, Austin picks up weekend flights to Savannah, Georgia, and a Saturday flight to Bozeman, Montana, both firsts for the carrier. Daily seasonal service to Portland, Oregon, and Saturday service to Sarasota, Florida, are also coming back.
Nashville, Tennessee, will see up to 220 daily flights, as many as 20 more than in summer 2026 and a summer record for Southwest there. New seasonal routes will connect Nashville with Nassau; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos; and Boise, Idaho, while seasonal flights to Bozeman and Portland resume. Southwest opened a crew base in Nashville in 2024 and is building airport lounges there and in Austin, two of the four it has planned.
In San Diego, where the summer schedule peaks at 150 daily flights, Southwest is adding year-round frequencies to Austin (up to six flights on peak days) and Seattle (three each weekday). A new Sunday seasonal route to Oklahoma City joins returning seasonal service to Bozeman, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, and Columbus, Ohio.
Elsewhere, Las Vegas grows by 12 daily flights to as many as 278, and Orlando, Florida, adds 17 for a peak of 173. Daily seasonal service between Las Vegas and Anchorage, Alaska, returns in June.
Clients headed to Yellowstone or Big Sky get the widest choice of all: Bozeman will have seasonal Southwest flights from Austin, Nashville, San Diego, Dallas, and Chicago Midway.
