Joining the announcement made by Swoop Airlines, El Cid Resorts shares that Mazatlán, México, has a new direct flight from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.
The new service from Swoop Airlines will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays from January 20, 2019 through April 21, 2019 on a Boeing 737-800s that has a capacity of 189 passengers. The flight will depart from Abbotsford at 10:15 a.m. and will be arriving in Mazatlán at 3:34 p.m. This new flight will represent to Mazatlán an increase of 4,524 air seats during the winter season.
Swoop Airlines only chose Mazatlán, Cancún and Puerto Vallarta as their direct flight destinations in México for their services.
Mazatlán was recently nominated for UNESCO’s Creative Cities designation in Gastronomy. With this, the destination is seeking to join 26 other cities in the world to have received this designation. The destination is home to a wide variety of cuisine; from seafood and traditional cuisine with the authentic flavors of México to international flavors inspired by Mazatlán’s French, Italian and German influence.
Mazatlán’s 12 miles of beaches, popular cuisine, four and a half miles of Malecón (boardwalk), El Faro lighthouse, carnival with 120 years of tradition, and affordability are some of the reasons why this destination has gained recognition.
Established in 2018, Swoop is a Canadian low-cost airline, independently operated as part of the WestJet Group of companies, offering point-to-point scheduled service to 14 destinations in Canada, the U.S., México and the Caribbean.
