This year, Las Vegas will be home to a number of shows and events for the Fourth of July holiday, including themed celebrations, rooftop pool parties, parades, and fireworks shows that celebrate America's independence. Here's what you need to know.
Events
The LINQ Promenade
Guests can celebrate Independence Day early with The LINQ Promenade’s festivities beginning June 30. The shopping, dining and entertainment district at the heart of the Las Vegas strip will have a red, white and blue-themed LED parade, culminating with views of Caesars Palace’s annual fireworks show. Guests may also watch the fireworks show from a High Roller cabin, 550 feet in the air. In addition, artists will be offering free “body marbling,” turning bodies into psychedelic works of art. Live entertainment on the Fountain Stage will include The Saints of Las Vegas.
Festivities continue July 1 with a parade and family-friendly activities throughout the day, such as balloon art, balloon-toss contests and jugglers. The Saints of Las Vegas will return for a second night of live music. On July 2, mixed media artist Timmy Sneaks will complete a live painting exhibit that will incorporate a vehicle provided by Royalty Exotics.
On the Fourth of July, family-friendly activities continue with stilt walkers, caricature artists and hula-hoop performers with the High Roller observation wheel to be lit red, white and blue at sunset.
Independence Day Pool Party at the Plaza Hotel & Casino
On June 30, guests can head to the rooftop Pool at the Plaza for its annual Independence Day Pool Party, starting at 7 p.m, featuring a fireworks show and a hot dog eating contest. Guests can take a swim or party poolside on the 70,000-square-foot pool deck as they enjoy signature cocktails and a live DJ performance. Plus, made-to-order poolside treats will be available from the Pool at the Plaza Food Truck.
At 8 p.m., the Plaza will host a hot dog eating contest, the winner of which will receive $200 cash, $150 to Oscar’s Steakhouse, two nights at the hotel, two tickets to "A Mob Story," and more. Then, a few hours later, the Plaza will shoot live fireworks from multiple rooftop locations.
Rooftop Barbecue at Beer Park
Beer Park at Paris Las Vegas will celebrate Independence Day with a rooftop barbecue featuring food carts and drink special from June 30 to July 4. Beer Park will begin the Fourth of July festivities with hot dog and ice cream carts roaming throughout the venue, as well as signature cocktails like a Firecracker Margarita, made with Hornitos Tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice and serrano peppers, garnished with a lime wheel and rocket popsicle. Beer Park will also offer specialty Budweiser “Freedom Reserve” red lagers. Beer Park guests will also have front row seats to a firework show on the Strip starting at 9:15 p.m. on June 30.
In all, Beer Park offers over 100 beer options including 36 brews on tap, an extensive selection of liquor cocktails, dozens of HD TVs, a laid-back open-air atmosphere, and views overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio.
Late Celebration at Lake Las Vegas
Travelers looking to celebrate the holiday a little late this year can take advantage of Lake Las Vegas’ event, Americana, held on July 7 from 7-10 p.m. at the hotel’s Reflection Bay Golf Club. The event is an evening of art, music, and fireworks that celebrates America’s Independence. The night begins with a juried art show reception from 7-8 p.m., and continues with a performance by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra from 8-9 p.m. Finally, a fireworks show at 9 p.m. will end the night. Admission is free with food and wine is available for purchase during the event.
Shows
David Copperfield
Travelers can celebrate Independence Day with a night of magic and illusions with David Copperfield. The world-famous magician will perform two shows in July 4 at the David Copperfield Theater in the MGM Grand. The 90-minute show includes tricks and stunts like levitation, making audience members disappear into thin air, and a different take on his famous Great Wall of China trick in which he walks through a solid metal sheet.
Guests can also elevate the experience with the David Copperfield Meet & Greet package, which includes front row seats, a meet and greet with David Copperfield, a photo with him, and an autographed 8x10 headshot.
"O" by Cirque Du Soleil
“O” at the Bellagio Las Vegas is an aquatic-themed show that brings together a cast of acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and an array of other aquatic characters as they perform in, on and above a 1.5-million-gallon pool. The production incorporates aerial hoops and gymnastics, high dives, underwater choreography, surreal sets and costumes, and natural elements like fire, air, and most prominently water. “O” will play at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on July 4.
Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club
Looking for laughs and a laid-back atmosphere this Fourth of July? Travelers can catch an always-changing lineup of comedians and stand-up performers at Brad Garrett’s comedy club in the MGM Grand. On July 4, comedians Craig Gass and Sam Fedele will be the stars of the 8 p.m. show, hosted by John Bizarre.
Best known for his role on the sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," Garrett has been performing in Las Vegas since the 1980s, starting as an opening act for performers like Frank Sinatra, Smokey Robinson, Sammy Davis Jr. and Liza Minnelli. In 2010, Garrett returned to his Vegas roots by opening up his own comedy club, which was originally located in the Tropicana Resort and Casino.
