Aeronology Strengthens Journey Beyond’s Air Capability

Melbourne-based travel tech provider Aeronology has announced that Journey Beyond, an Australian tourism business, is joining its new booking platform, which offers travel advisors a seamless and more efficient way to do business.

Journey Beyond focuses on experiential tourism businesses in Australia, including The Ghan and Indian Pacific, Sal Salis and Outback Spirit Tours, to name a few. In partnership with Journey Beyond, Aeronology’s technology offerings empower travel advisors with an expanded range of experiences.

Aeronology was co-founded in December 2019 by long-time travel industry executive Russell Carstensen. “This is a wonderful connection point for two Australian companies,” said Carstensen, CEO of Aeronology. “Aeronology delivers a modern, efficient and more profitable way for travel advisors to do business. Journey Beyond has an extensive national footprint and is one of the largest experiential tourism businesses in the country, so we’re delighted to bring these amazing brands and experiences into our booking platform.”

Peter Egglestone, chief revenue officer of Journey Beyond, added: “Journey Beyond has been looking for the right point of sale booking tool for our Travel Center teams in Adelaide and Albury, and our search has ended in our own backyard with Aeronology.”

“We took notice when Qantas cited Aeronology as a Preferred Technology Partner,” continued Egglestone. “Like many companies at the moment, we are being impacted by a shortage of travel experts. Aeronology’s simple-to-use booking system allows our team to be at least four times more productive when booking air segments. This means we can continue delivering great service to our customers.”

“Additionally, we can service all air auxiliaries and special service needs quickly and without any special training. This will fundamentally change the way Journey Beyond provides Air services to our customers."
