The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has announced its continued backing for Global Empowerment Mission's (GEM) disaster relief fundraising campaign in Ukraine for the second-straight year.
“ASTA is proud to stand behind Global Empowerment Movement's critical efforts to provide aid to the communities in Ukraine devastated by the effects of war,” commented Zane Kerby, ASTA's president and CEO. "This campaign is aligned with our commitment to responsible and sustainable travel, and it is an excellent example of how ASTA members make a positive difference in the world."
Supporters can contribute to ASTA and GEM's relief fundraising campaign by visiting their website, where every donation, no matter the size, will aid communities in Ukraine.
“One year ago, at the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine we were helping to relocate hundreds of refugees and their families who needed a safe place to stay,” said Patrick Lynch, chief development officer of Global Empowerment Mission. “Thanks to incredible groups like ASTA and potential donors like yourself, our response continues—whether it's handing out food or blankets or helping to repair schools, streets or buildings.”
ASTA and GEM are partnering for the second-straight year around ASTA’s River Cruise Expo which will be held from March 15-18, 2023, in Budapest, Hungary. The event will bring together travel advisors and suppliers to showcase the latest industry innovations and provide networking opportunities and professional development.
