Avanti Destinations has hired two industry veterans as regional sales directors—Michel Madjerich in the Southeast and Darin Meder in the Northeast.
Madjerich is based in Tampa and calls on advisors in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. With more than 20 years of experience in business development, she has worked for tour and cruise operators in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, including Rosenbluth Vacations, MLT (Delta and United) Vacations, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara, among others.
Meder is also a travel industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience. He calls on advisors in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia. After a long career in sales management at Couples Resorts, Meder most recently worked as U.S. business development manager for Senator Resorts (Alameda, Spain).
Maderich and Meder, along with the company’s two other regional sales directors, Molly Blackmon in the Central region and Pascale Theurier Beard in the Western region, report to John Hanratty, Avanti’s senior vice president of sales and industry relations.
“Both Michel and Darin Meder have extensive industry knowledge and have built strong relationships with travel advisors over the years,” said Hanratty. “Our four regional sales directors are expertly supported by Austin Russell, as inside sales manager based in Vancouver, WA, and Kristin Romitti as travel sales support specialist based in Connecticut.”
Headquartered in Portland, OR, wholesale tour operator Avanti Destinations offers customized independent and group travel in Europe, Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and Central and South America exclusively through travel advisors.
