Avoya Travel has announced the introduction of the Avoya Flowerfly Award, an honor given to the Avoya Network member who best represents the integrity, professionalism and character that define the essence of the Avoya Travel community. The Avoya Flowerfly Award, a nod to the brand’s logo that is often referred to as a combination of a flower and butterfly, will be handed out biannually to one independent agency in the Avoya Travel Network at the Avoya Travel Land Forum and Avoya Travel Conference each year.
The first award was presented to Badonna Birdsong, owner of Badonna’s Travel World, LLC, a member of the Avoya Network, and was announced in-person at the 2022 Avoya Travel Land Forum on May 1 at Hilton Cancun, an All-Inclusive Resort. The award was presented to Birdsong by Avoya Travel alongside her husband and business partner Julian Birdsong.
This new category of awards is focused on celebrating the humanity and character of the recipient, besides their devotion to service, generosity and positivity in all of their interactions, from travelers, to Avoya support staff, to supplier partners. Birdsong has been a staple of the Avoya Network for over 15 years. She has endeared herself to many in the Avoya platform by volunteering her time to share her deep knowledge of travel with other independent agencies and suppliers alike, often serving on panels at events. Birdsong has been a beacon of positivity and a humble ambassador for Avoya Travel.
“I am honored, blessed, and grateful to be chosen as the first-ever recipient of Avoya’s Flowerfly Award. This award shines a bright star on my 32-year resume in the travel industry, 16 years of which my agency has been affiliated with Avoya,” said Birdsong.
