CruiseOne franchisee Jason Newquist was recently honored by the International Franchise Association (IFA) with its annual Franchisee of the Year Award.
“After more than 10 years as a travel advisor with CruiseOne, being nominated and then chosen to receive this award is a humbling experience,” said Newquist, CruiseOne travel advisor and franchise owner. “I was able to grow my business with both the support and encouragement of our headquarters staff in Florida, and by setting lofty goals. Once you narrow your focus, doors will open, but your mindset must always be positive.”
The Franchisee of the Year Award, sponsored by IFA’s partner Paychex, recognizes leading franchise owners from IFA member brands whose performance and contributions help protect, enhance, and promote the franchise business model. Nominated by their parent company, individuals are selected for their service to their communities, fostering a strong and vibrant workforce, opening the doors for career growth and entrepreneurship, and supporting their fellow franchisees.
“Jason strives to leave his customers and colleagues happier than when they started an interaction,” said Drew Daly, senior vice president and general manager for CruiseOne and Dream Vacations. “Jason lets his customers, not his competitors, determine sales and profitability. He leads by example and advises his fellow travel advisors to set their goals high and visualize reaching them.”
“Franchisee of the Year recipients represent the best in franchising,” said Matthew Haller, IFA president and CEO. “This is the highest honor IFA awards to individual franchisees, and local business owners like Jason exemplify the power of franchising and its positive contributions to communities around the world.”
There are approximately 800,000 franchised businesses across the U.S., providing more than 8.4 million direct jobs and generating over $800 billion in economic output. According to Oxford Economics, franchising on average provides higher wages and better benefits than non-franchised businesses, besides greater entrepreneurial opportunities to minorities, women, veterans and other underrepresented communities.
