Israel Ministry of Tourism Updates Staff in North America

The Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced the appointment of Yael Golan as interim tourism commissioner for North America. The Israel Ministry of Tourism has also appointed Richard Liverance as the western region marketing director and Lisa McManus as business development manager for the Midwest region.

In her role as interim commissioner, Golan will oversee all tourism marketing activities for the five regional offices across the United States and Canada. Previously Golan served as tourism consul of the southern region based in Atlanta for six years, where she worked on promoting travel to Israel with Southern based tour operators, host agencies, airlines, cruise lines, major Christian denominations and Jewish organizations.

In addition to her role as interim commissioner, Golan is also the director of the International Hosting Program, and since the events of October 7, she has been the point person for two Northern Israel regional councils—Marom Galil and Metula—in charge of finding accommodation solutions for the displaced community while working with dozens of hotels throughout the country.

Based in Los Angeles, Liverance works closely with the travel trade within the western U.S. states to educate and promote tourism to Israel. He also works to connect religious communities to Israel, encouraging them to expand their understanding of their faith and the biblical text through visitation. His background as a pastor and Bible teacher for more than 25 years has uniquely suited him to make the case for the importance of Christian and Jewish travel to Israel.

As business development manager for the Midwest Region, McManus works to educate and promote tourism to Israel to the travel trade across 13 U.S. states. Before joining the Israel Ministry of Tourism, McManus ran her own travel agency under the Archer Travel umbrella where she served as a coach and mentor to other travel advisors, helping them to grow their business and knowledge base. She has been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years and has worked in marketing and sales for over 20 years.
