KHM Travel Group has made several investments to bolster the company’s compliance resources including new roles, team members and education opportunities for travel advisors.
The host agency has been supporting and educating travel advisors about compliance since early 2017 with a dedicated specialist on staff. In the seven years since that position was created, the team has grown, most recently with the newly appointed Compliance and Resolution Manager Karen Tyler, who shared her knowledge at the Path Symposium earlier this year, participating in the event’s panel on fraud.
Recently, the host agency released a new Compliance Hub for its advisors in the password-protected MyTravelAgentPortal.com. It offers a range of resources for travel advisors, including the $2 million "Errors & Omission" insurance policy, fraud warning flags and more, alongside sample consent, authorization and acknowledgment forms. Much of this information is also covered at in-person events including Boot Camp 1.0 and Boot Camp 2.0.
“It’s just as essential for us to have that resolution aspect, along with our compliance expertise. We’re not just here to listen to potential issues that arise with our travel advisors and their bookings. We are with them every step of the way through getting acceptable resolution for all parties involved. With our new hires and recent promotions within our Compliance and Resolution team, we’ve ensured our advisors always have the support in place when these difficult issues arise,” said Karen Siburt, vice president of finance and administration.
In addition to education for advisors, the company has also increased its internal training for staff on understanding cybersecurity, authentication and access control.
