Avanti Destinations is now offering custom FIT and group travel in Morocco, Mongolia and St. Petersburg, Russia.
The tour operator’s new 2020-2021 brochures for Europe and Asia detail these and many other new experiences, tours, transfers and accommodations.
Here is an overview of what Avanti has to offer at the three new destinations.
Mystical Morocco: nine days/eight nights all around Morocco—Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Merzouga (desert tent camping reachable only by 4x4 and camel), Ouarzazate, Marrakesh—visiting many UNESCO World Heritage Sites, movie locations, artisans’ workshops, souks/markets and bakeries. Accommodations are small, family-run Riads. All transfers are made by luxury vehicle (Good to know: Avanti Destination has created four new customizable fly and drive packages in Europe and Central America.)
This includes extensive private city tours of Rabat, Fez and Marrakech, or a tour of the archeological site of Roman colony, Volubilis. Travelers can drive around Middle and High Atlas Mountains to the Sahara, returning via the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” and stay in a luxury tented camp with traditional musical entertainment in the Sahara desert camping experience. The package may be customized to delete segments (e.g. desert camping) or add a daytrip to the beach town of Essaouira or other tours. The program is available 365 days/year; best times to go: April-June, September -October 2020 (due to high heat of Moroccan summer)
Great Gobi Adventure (Mongolia): nine days/eight nights in Ulaanbaatar and desert traditional tent (“ger”) camp. This includes transfers within Mongolia and private tours/guides throughout, including Ulaanbaatar Highlights and the Gobi Desert tour, a Lake Adag and dinosaur excavations tour, a Bayan Zag and “Flaming Cliffs” tour, a Yol and Havtsgait Valleys and 13th century park tour, roundtrip domestic flights between Ulaanbaatar-Gobi Desert, all breakfasts and most lunches and dinners. The program is available from May 15-September 30, 2020.
St. Petersburg Discovery: seven days/six nights visiting Helsinki, St. Petersburg and a roundtrip overnight cruise between the two cities. This includes a Helsinki Design Walk tour, a St Petersburg city tour with entrance to Hermitage and Peterhof (the Russian Versailles), a ballet performance at Mariinsky or Hermitage theater, a rooftop tour of St. Petersburg and daily breakfast. No Russian visa is required. The program departs Tues or Wed, April-December 2020.
