Nexion Travel Group recently held two educational symposiums focused on luxury travel: Luxury Travel Sales Summit, held at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ from November 1 to 4, 2019, and Leap Into Luxury, held at Andaz San Diego from November 8 to 10, 2019.
Nexion Travel Group Vice Presidnet of Sales and Marketing Cris de Souza said that the host agency’s members are extremely interested in expanding their luxury travel business, and that Nexion has increased its offerings in this area.
The Luxury Travel Sales Summit, now in its fourth year, is an invitation-only event for Nexion Travel Group’s top-selling luxury members. The event focuses on deepening relationships between advisors and preferred suppliers, as well as providing education on ways to expand their luxury business and clientele. Nexion Travel Group members were able to meet one-on-one with luxury travel suppliers and destination marketing partners, as well as Select Hotel partners who provided a hotel immersion day. Nexion Travel Group’s sister companies ALTOUR, Protravel International and Cruise Specialists were on hand to offer advice and guidance on luxury travel. Attendees were also treated to a private party at the Phoenix Zoo.
Nexion Travel Group members at the Luxury Travel Sales Summit are given the opportunity to apply to attend ILTM. A record number of these members have been chosen to attend, Nexion said.
The Leap Into Luxury event is designed for the Nexion Travel Group member who wants entry-level exposure to luxury travel. This event is open to all members who show an interest, and it gives attendees a foundation in selling luxury travel. By the end of the course, participants have the basis to build out this niche, learn how to prospect new luxury clients and turn their current clients into luxury travelers, and more. Leap Into Luxury also connected the travel advisors with select luxury travel suppliers so they could learn the best ways to sell their luxury products.
Mickey Weill, vice president of business development for Protravel International, was the keynote speaker at Leap Into Luxury and focused on understanding the mindset of the luxury traveler and how the travel advisor can connect to them.
