Teldar Travel has announced its official launch in the United States. A subsidiary of European hospitality leader Accor and part of the Gekko Group, Teldar Travel offers a booking platform exclusively for travel advisors, providing access to over two million accommodations worldwide. To spearhead this strategic expansion, the company has appointed seasoned travel industry expert Ed Jones as director of sales USA.
“We are thrilled to bring Teldar Travel’s innovative and advisor-first solution to the U.S. market,” said Adam McKnight, chief growth officer, Gekko Group. “Our platform was built with the travel advisor in mind, from flexibility in payments to fast commission payouts. Ed’s experience and deep industry relationships make him the perfect leader to drive our growth in this dynamic market.”
With more than 25 years of experience in the travel industry, Jones brings a rare blend of operational expertise, sales acumen and a people-first approach. His background includes roles at American Airlines, cruise lines and B2B hotel platforms, giving him a 360-degree view of the advisor ecosystem.
Jones is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and will be on the road regularly to meet travel advisors across the country, participate in industry events and provide hands-on support and training.
Teldar Travel’s U.S. rollout is more than a market entry; it’s the arrival of a tech-forward, advisor-centric alternative. Designed specifically for the North American market, the platform brings a suite of benefits aimed at increasing profitability and simplifying the booking experience for travel professionals.
What makes Teldar Travel different?
Teldar Travel is 100 percent B2B and exclusively for licensed travel professionals, ensuring there will be no direct-to-consumer competition ever. The platform’s fast and high-performance API offers advisors access to more than two million properties worldwide, from luxury resorts to local hidden gems, available in real-time with competitive rates. The platform also offers flexible & seamless payment options such as multi-credit card payments with no limit, deposit options and instant confirmations; a secure payment link for travelers to complete transactions online; and split payments, perfect for group travel, enabling each participant to pay their share independently.
Teldar Travel’s fast and transparent commission handling services include a built-in tracking dashboard that allows advisors to monitor and export commission data directly from their account. Furthermore, a bi-monthly ACH commission transfer system (on the 15th and last day of each month) ensures agencies are paid faster than the market standard.
Through the Miles Attack loyalty program, advisors earn one MILE for every $2 sold on the platform. These MILES can be redeemed for personal travel discounts or converted into real dollars and transferred directly to the advisor’s bank account.
