Travelport has renewed a multi-year agreement with mobile flight-booking app and travel fintech company Hopper.
Travelport’s industry data products and “Competitive Insights” have been fundamental in helping to fuel Hopper’s expansion into new regions globally. As part of the renewed agreement, the companies will build upon their long-standing relationship and leverage Travelport’s enhanced retailing capabilities to deliver the best possible experience for Hopper’s expanding user base. The companies have started collaborating on Hopper’s upgrade to Travelport+ in high-growth regions and will continue integration across Hopper’s central platform into early 2023.
As part of the data insight collaboration, Travelport and Hopper are working towards a mix of growth, traveler and supplier initiatives with an insights-driven approach to complement Hopper’s data science-focused strategy to ensure travelers always know the best time to book. Travelport’s “Competitive Insights” actively support Hopper’s growth by drilling into current traveler behaviors and identifying opportunities that result in relevant, valuable information that is key to making commercial decisions.
The technology upgrade to Travelport+ will ultimately help Hopper deliver the best travel content and fares through a single API, with simplified access to Travelport’s aggregated New Distribution Capability (NDC) and multi-sourced content. Travelport’s modern retailing platform will ensure Hopper can deliver valuable and relevant content through a user experience that makes it easier for them to navigate the multitude of options available.
Both companies are also exploring innovative ways to deliver new agency tools and enhancements for Travelport customers using Travelport+ with Hopper Cloud, Hopper’s B2B initiative. Hopper and Travelport will aim to collaborate in order to create a more modernized retailing experience for Travelport agent desktop users worldwide, while helping them deliver value, increase customer satisfaction and drive revenue.
“As we have entered into new regions and continue to grow our user base, the data intelligence and consultation that Travelport provides has been invaluable to us and has allowed us to give users access to the best, most relevant trip options and enjoy a modern, digital shopping experience,” said Kiera Haining, head of flights marketplace at Hopper. “We are equally as thrilled to progress on our Hopper Cloud collaboration and expose our travel fintech products to a broader audience, ensuring that Travelport agent desktop users can access ultimate flexibility and cost-savings.”
Rob Brown, GVP, agency enterprise group at Travelport said: “Travelport is centrally focused on modernizing travel retail and the work we’re doing with Hopper is a testament to our shared belief that the experience of buying travel should be smarter, faster and easier for travelers. We have been a proud partner of Hopper since the app launched, and we’re excited to continue working with the world’s fastest-growing travel app to advance user experiences.”
