Several Sofitel hotels have added new leadership. Hospitality veteran Elodie Lacroix has been named general manager of Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese. As part of her new role, she is responsible for managing all aspects of the hotel’s operations, including the property’s 78 luxury rooms and suites. With over 17 years in the hospitality industry, Lacroix will work towards exceeding guest expectations through immersive experiences, world-class service, and exclusive amenities.
Lacroix has held operational and executive leadership roles in luxury properties throughout Europe including Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel; Le Royal Monceau Raffles; and Jumeirah Group. Additionally, she’s held previous leadership roles within Sofitel and parent Accor Hotels. Mrs. Lacroix holds a bachelor's degree in economics and social sciences and a master’s degree in management.
The Sofitel Barú Calablanca Beach Resort in Cartagena, Colombia has also announced Frenchman Yannick Sorro as its new general manager. With more than 10 years of experience in the hotel and tourism sector—including the past four as general manager of Sofitel Mexico Reforma— Sorro has stood out for his management roles in various areas, including administration and food and beverage, as well as his expertise in managing luxury hotels. He holds an MBA in Hotel Management from EHL in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Sorro has worked in luxury hotels in various cities around the world, including Four Seasons in Paris and The Savoy by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in London, before becoming director and operations manager of the W Hotel in Mexico City. In 2019, he took on the challenge of opening the new Sofitel Mexico Reforma hotel.
As the new general manager of the Sofitel Barú Calablanca, he will be responsible for spearheading growth strategies and operations for the coming years.
The Bodrum EDITION has appointed Mustafa Bulmus as its new GM. Having been hotel manager at the resort previously and a general manager at the W Istanbul and Ritz-Carlton Residences Istanbul, Bulmus is set to bring a wealth of experience as he returns to the Bodrum EDITION in his new role.
Bulmus was responsible for the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Residences Istanbul, while also being an integral part of the pre-opening task force as the commercial lead at The Reykjavik EDITION and the Times Square EDITION.
Oetker Collection has announced the appointment of Andrew Jeffries as executive head of sales and marketing at Jumby Bay Island in the Caribbean.
A native New Yorker, Jeffries commenced his hospitality career in Los Angeles in 2005 at The Kor Group (now Viceroy Hotel Group) as its first management trainee, gaining managerial experience in every hotel across its varied portfolio of properties. After receiving his Masters in management in hospitality from Cornell University in 2008, which included a position with One&Only Resorts working in its marketing and finance departments, Jeffries relocated to London where he assumed the role of duty manager at the iconic Claridge’s in Mayfair.
In 2010, Jeffries joined the Maybourne Hotel Group, parent company of Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley, serving in various sales and marketing roles for the next nine years. Jeffries joins Jumby Bay Island from The Mark Hotel in New York, where he has held the position of director of sales and marketing for the past four years. His new responsibilities will include the development and execution of the annual sales and marketing plan. He will lead the sales, PR, events and reservations team. Jeffries will be based in Manhattan with considerable periods spent on Jumby Bay Island.
Eden Roc Cap Cana has welcomed Pedro Castillo as its new associate director of sales and marketing. Castillo has been a member of the Eden Roc team for the past five years, starting as the spa director and then bringing his knowledge to create the Wellness and Lifestyle program. He will be working alongside Rosalynn Castillo, director of sales and marketing.
